Drops of God Wine Experience

Arrival Day:

Blind tasting in the candlelit cellar where you will experience the sensory journey of The Le Nez du Vin, the world’s ultimate wine education system. Used by winery staff and merchants worldwide, they teach you to distinguish the type of wine, its age, components, and even the type of soil in which the grapes were grown!
The darkened cellar magnifies your sense of smell, giving you a greater ability to recognise and describe the aroma of different wines. The candlelit tasting is followed by a pizza evening overlooking the sunset lake of lilies (or the Looking Glasshouse if the drops of God are falling).

Day Two:

A walk through the vineyards to understand the Origin of a great wine: it’s terroir. Arrive at the Grand Domaine Cellar for a barrel tasting experience with the head winemaker, Debbie Thompson to explore the winemaking journey. Cheese and salad platters served for lunch. Get ready for the competitive energy of a wine blending competition, followed by a blind tasting where you are the panel of judges (tasting blind so that there is no favouritism.) Take a trip home in the chauffeured vintage Land Rover and enjoy a deep soak in the hot tub or a wild swim in the eco-pool, to freshen up for the evening of fine dining on the town.

Evening: Dinner at the Grand Domaine Enoteca, which includes a 5-course wine pairing.

Departure Day:

Enjoy a morning steam, infused with fresh lavender to chase away any headaches, followed by a deep soak in the hot tub. Chase away any grumbling stomachs with our farm style, hangover burger brunch in the glass house or brunch bubbles and a tasting board to celebrate the Drops of God.

Special Extra:

Le Grand Jardin is an exclusive use Villa at R 42 900 per night, half-board which includes Breakfast and Dinner daily prepared by the Villa Chef for up to 12 guests.

The Drops of God Wine Experience package for a two-night stay can be enjoyed for an additional R1770 per person (includes all meals and wine) for a minimum of 6 adult guests.
